How to Market Your Photography without Sharing Kids' Faces

I hosted this class to address the growing tension that our industry is facing about whether or not we can safely share kids' faces online. I'm not here to judge or answer that question for you. This is about empowering you with the tools and knowledge to market your work without relying on sharing kids' faces (whether you or your clients make that choice not to).

There’s a question and tension a lot of photographers are feeling right now.

You want to share your work…

You want to book more clients…

But, you also care about privacy & boundaries.

And how much of people’s lives you’re putting online.

Or perhaps, you're not sure how you feel about this topic. But you're confronting the reality that more and more parents are opting out of model releases. And wondering how to still show up in marketing your photography while honoring your clients' wishes.

This free community conversation is here to help you explore what this question means for you. And have the tools to still market your photography business and share your art without having to rely on sharing kids' faces.

This is about how to create more safety and care for the families in front of your lens. And figuring out a more thoughtful way to approach visibility as artists in the face of that.

Hi, I'm Suzy.

I've been photographing families for over 18 years, mostly on film, out of Chicago and all around the world. I'm a mom of three, which is probably why I care so much about parents actually enjoying the experience we give them. Because whew do I know how hard it is to be a parent. And how special it can be for parents to have any amount of time where they get to put down all the expectation and obligation they carry, and just enjoy being with their children.

I've spent my entire career transforming family photos from a dreaded obligation into an experience that's looked forward to. And now I teach other photographers how to do the same by leading families into real connection instead of posing them.
